Bearsden Dog Training Club - Rules

These rules are for the safety of all members of the club, spectators and the community in general.

  • Dogs should be kept on a lead and under control at all times both outside the centre and when entering the centre.
  • Leads should only be removed in training classes on the direction of an instructor.
  • Please do not feed your dog prior to attending training classes.
  • Please make sure that your dog is exercised properly, before attending training classes.
  • Care should be taken that your dog does not foul the area around the centre. Should an accident happen, please remove the offending matter. ( Disposal bags can be obtained from a member of the team if you have forgotten to bring your own.
  • In the interests of safety, children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Only those people training dogs are permitted to sit in the area reserved for dog handlers.
  • All family and friends must sit in the area provided for spectators.
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the training hall.
  • The centre is a no smoking area in line with current legislation.
  • Only instructors, handlers and dogs are allowed on the training floor.
  • Any person advised to muzzle their dog in the interests of safety to other dogs or people, will not be allowed to participate in classes until the dog is suitably muzzled.
  • Members will be given written notification of any serious matters arising, and will be notified of what steps need to be taken to rectify such problems.
  • Membership must be kept up to date.

In the interests of safety, if you are given an instruction by either an instructor or committee member, please follow them immediately.

The committee reserve the right to vary or amend the above rules at any time.
